Entry-Level Data Center Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking multiple technicians to support infrastructure build-out inside a large data center project in Sandston, VA. These roles involve a wide range of hands-on technical and construction-focused tasks, from installing cable trays and assembling server cabinets to assisting with network equipment setup or break/fix repairs for those with the right skillset. We have openings for both entry-level and mid-level candidates who are eager to learn, work with their hands, and contribute to a large-scale data center build.

What You'll Do:

You will work alongside experienced technicians and team leads to help build and support the technical backbone of a major data center. Responsibilities may include:

Install and route cabling (copper and fiber) throughout the facility, including running, dressing, and terminating cable.

Build and install cable trays, ladder racks, and other pathway systems across various areas of the data center.

Assemble and stage server racks and cabinets, including mounting hardware and preparing equipment locations.

Perform basic network support or break/fix work, depending on skillset (switch installation, hardware swaps, troubleshooting, etc.).

Assist with equipment grounding, labeling, and documentation to maintain site organization and compliance.

Follow drawings, diagrams, and build plans to ensure installations are completed accurately.

Complete required paperwork such as timesheets, material tracking, and work orders.

Adhere to all safety standards, especially within an active construction environment.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the build-out and operations teams.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Punctual, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Comfortable working with your hands and using basic hand and power tools.

Willingness to learn cabling, networking, and data center infrastructure skills.

Ability to follow instructions, diagrams, and safety procedures.

Comfortable working in a construction setting-areas may not have AC and may involve noise.

Must be able to work at heights and lift/pull materials as needed.

Must be able to wear all required PPE (steel-toe boots, vest, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves).

Work Environment:

Work takes place at a large data center under active construction. Fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Physical activity is required, including standing, lifting, climbing ladders, and working overhead.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandston, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
