CS R&D Finance Business Partner
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The R&D Finance Business Partner is a multifunctional position that is the primary representative of the global Bayer Finance community for a CS R&D Capability Home. You will advise and support the business in areas related to future state financial performance. Additionally, you will provide finance consulting and coaching by interpreting financial results and measures in the @context of business operations. You will also deliver forward-looking financial insights on market conditions, competitors, and alternative business scenarios. Finally, you will improve the quality of internal and external financial data to enhance business decision-making and performance.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Crop Science R&D Finance Business Partner, are to:
Co-pilot or navigator of strategic business decisions;
Streamline financials and resource management resulting in informed pipeline decisions;
Provide efficient steering of R&D costs (operating & capital) supporting future growth opportunities while mitigating risk;
Provide investment analytics and financial proposals allowing for faster decisions and higher impact business opportunities;
Provides finance consulting and coaching by interpreting financial results and measures, delivers forward-looking financial insights and steering recommendations on market conditions, competitors, and alternative business scenarios;
Participate in the global CS R&D Capability Home Leadership team as Finance representative and support development of business strategy and challenge financial input of project business cases;
Develop plans for formal transformation initiatives (i.e., DSO / 5-yr framework) and tracking as required;
Ensure that R&D costs (operating & capital) are prioritized, steered, and reported in line with the strategic steering dimensions on crops, indication, phases, and product / technical outcomes;
Provide updates on financial performance / spend trends and proposes corrective actions, collaborates with business analysts as work lead and business partners to provide clarity and transparency on performance, and understand business tradeoffs to manage the range of outcomes, mitigating risks, and executing on opportunities to deliver on financial targets;
Coordinate resource allocation / prioritization to enterprise product teams, product and technical units with R&D Strategy & Excellence (S&E) and specific R&D Capability Home operational planning teams;
Analyze complex data and clearly communicate insights to non-finance global leaders / teams;
Interact with business analysts regarding major teams / legal entities and ensure information transfer for a higher visibility at the global level;
Implement the overall worldwide R&D standards for financial/controlling processes;
Contribute to the optimization of the R&D Finance organization, build and develop strong relationships within R&D and Finance including active community management and leadership circle participation;
Support R&D Finance Lead and local finance community in creating a high-performance team and helping facilitate people development / retention;
Provide design support for leading work teams across CS R&D, R&D Finance and CS Finance, flexibilization of resources and highest value creation 20-25% of the working time is reserved;
Partner with R&D Capability Home Leader and his / her Leadership Team - Enterprise Product team -CS Finance Cash, Strategy and Innovation Lead - CS R&D Finance Lead and his R&D finance team - R&D Finance BPs / PS Finance & Commercial Finance; R&D Strategy & Excellence, Engineering, HR, Procurement, Real Estate; Accounting, Corporate Controlling, and other corporate functions as well as auditors and external consultants.

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bacelor's degree in business administration or equivalent studies in economics;
Excellent understanding of Bayer financial processes/ systems/methodologies;
Business partnering mindset and behavior;
Strong strategic skills and analytical thinking, ability to reduce complexity;
Ability to collaborate successfully with people from a variety of different cultures/backgrounds;
Good leadership and influencing skills;
Ability to challenge status quo and to embrace change with an enterprise mindset and strong business acumen;
Ability to manage potentially conflicting interests of stakeholders and manage ambiguity;
Excellent command of the English language.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in Controlling, Business Partnering, or comparable functions;
Master's degree in business administration or equivalent studies in economics.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $120,560.00 to $180,840.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
