As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - NBA Delivery Platform team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Participate in the design, development, and evolution of a highly scalable, reliable GraphQL platform with exceptional performance and high availability across multiple teams and services.
Support automation strategies for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices, creating reusable patterns and frameworks that accelerate delivery across engineering teams.
Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Proficient in coding in one or more languages ; Typescript, Go, Rust, Python or similar languages
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices for managing complex, multi-environment infrastructure.
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh architectures.
Experience with version control workflows (Git/Bitbucket) and distributed systems monitoring using tools such as Splunk, DataDog, Dynatrace, or CloudWatch
Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Familiarity with AWS cloud architecture and services, including architectural patterns for high availability and disaster recovery
Experience and knowledge of AWS services including EKS, ECS Fargate, IAM, VPC design, CloudWatch, X-Ray, ElastiCache-Redis, RDS Aurora Postgres, MSK, and KMS
Preferred proficiency in at least one of the following modern programming languages (Java, Bash, Groovy, or similar)
Experience in implementing comprehensive observability solutions (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting) and automating complex CI/CD workflows using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar platforms.
