The primary purpose of this position is to maintain situational awareness and initiate actions for the non-secure internet protocol router network (NIPR Net) and the secure internet protocol router network (SIPR Net) to improve or restore the information assurance (IA) posture as well as conducting annual security reviews of IA controls and a test of selected IA controls. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. Expert ability to identify any area, program or equipment/system that is not compliant with standards; identify the observations, root cause, and/or possible solutions; analyze to determine if there are trends and provide a comprehensive report to all levels of management. Ability to perform feasibility studies, perform cost analysis review, develop investment plans, and recommend a best course of action along with suitable alternatives. Ability to review and consult on IT related contracts and to serve as a technical representative on IT systems and service contracts. Ability to stay well informed on rapidly changing technology, to evaluate its possible impact on organization missions, and to develop plans to satisfy public IAW, DoD/AF policy and guidance or technical orders.
