Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Lincoln, Rhode Island. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in managing financial transactions and maintaining vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Process and accurately enter vendor invoices into the accounting system.

Manage the accounts payable inbox, ensuring timely responses and resolution of inquiries.

Conduct outstanding check reviews and ensure proper reconciliation.

Communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers to address payment issues and inquiries.

Assist with month-end closing activities, including reviewing and coding invoices.

Perform account coding for various transactions to maintain accurate financial records.

Handle check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments to ensure timely disbursements.

Maintain organized records of all accounts payable activities and documentation. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a related financial role.

Proficiency with accounting software such as Intacct Sage or similar third-party systems.

Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Familiarity with ACH payments and check processing.

Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and organization.
