Job Title: AP & AR Staff Accountant

Position Type: Temp to Hire

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Onsite

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $ 35.00/hour

Position Overview

The AP & AR Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities within the Finance Department. This role is responsible for handling a variety of sensitive and confidential accounting functions while working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Duties may evolve over time based on business needs.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

Maintain all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable files, both digital and paper

Review invoices for accuracy and proper general ledger allocation; obtain approvals prior to entry into the accounting system

Use AP aging reports to schedule vendor payments and process payments accordingly

Match invoices to checks, obtain required signatures, and distribute payments

Utilize AR aging reports to identify overdue customer payments and follow up as needed

Issue customer invoices upon shipment and for prepayments

Respond to vendor inquiries and reconcile monthly vendor statements, researching and resolving discrepancies

Prepare weekly sales shipment summaries

Perform month-end bank reconciliations

Prepare and post applicable month-end journal entries

Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Procurement, Warehouse, Shared Services, etc.) to ensure accurate receipt, purchase order recording, and three-way matching

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred

1-3 years of relevant accounting experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to meet both scheduled and ad-hoc deadlines

Quick learner with strong initiative and self-starter mindset

Team-oriented with a commitment to professionalism

Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders on a daily basis

Pay Details: $35.00 per hour
