This is a temporary, full-time position running from June 11, 2026, through August 6, 2026, averaging 40 hours per week. The position will serve as a 4-H Youth Development Program Educator with the Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County, supporting summer 4-H youth programs and events. This role will support summer 4-H youth programming, including the planning and facilitation of a one-week Clover Bud Summer Camp for youth ages 5-7 with up to 10 youth, the 4-H Career Explorations Program (June 30-July 2, 2026), and 4-H youth programming during the Jefferson County Fair (July 12-July 18, 2026). Responsibilities include general program support, youth supervision, assisting with educational activities and events, and supporting 4-H staff and volunteers throughout the summer. The position will also assist with coordinating youth activities, educational exhibits, and hands-on learning opportunities for youth participating in fair programming.

Required Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or equivalent education (GED/High School Diploma and 1-year transferrable program/functional experience).
Experience relevant to the role of the position.
Valid NYS Driver's License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.

Program Responsibilities:
Program Delivery, Evaluation and Applied Research - 90%
Assist with the implementation of 4-H youth development programming utilizing research-based curricula and established program materials.
Support the planning and facilitation of educational activities for youth participating in summer programs and community events.
Coordinate and lead a one-week Clover Bud Summer Camp for youth ages 5-7, including preparing simple educational activities, crafts, and games aligned with 4-H positive youth development principles and curriculum.
Work to foster acceptance of the 4-H program, methods, and policies while addressing community and individual needs and considering diverse audiences.
Utilize already established materials to support program delivery and serve as a basic subject matter resource, providing standard responses and guidance to youth participants.
Serve as a team member and cooperate with the entire Association and 4-H Program staff to achieve Association program delivery goals.
Implement program evaluation as designed.
Assist in the interaction with program participants to obtain evaluation data.
Assist Supervisor in the process of analyzing program data, and based on that analysis, make recommendations for improvements in program offerings.
Assist in the communication of evaluation findings to constituents as appropriate.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Coordination/Operation - 5%
Assist with 4-H Career Explorations and Jefferson County Fair (i.e. 4-H enrichment activity implementation, set up, break down and youth supervision).
Order material and supplies as needed.
Conduct data entry as needed.
Effectively maintain professional relationships with other agencies, organizations and businesses that promote effective communication and facilitate continued programming efforts.
This position may require the transport of program participants and/or program materials and resources in performing position responsibilities.
Professional Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned - 5%
In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes in programming and association priorities.
Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension including but not limited to, general marketing of Extension programs and other duties as assigned.
Health and Safety - Applied to all duties and functions.
Support the Association to maintain a safe working environment.
Be familiar with and strive to follow any applicable federal, state, local regulations, Association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement and standard.
Act proactively to prevent accidents/injuries and communicate hazards to supervisors when identified.
