Position Summary:
Machine Operator Assistant's role is to help keep the department running efficiently by staging work for the machines and by caring for the machine fluids (lubricants and coolant).
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness of wash area (i.e. mop floors, change solvents in tanks) and ensure all wash materials used have been replenished at the end of each shift.
Maintain machine fluid inventories (lubricants and coolant)
Fill machines with oil
Fill coolant wagons
Perform machine coolant changes
Material handling responsibilities.
Receive raw material
Store raw material and control inventory
Move and stage raw material to machining centers
Retrieve gages from and return gages to Gage Control / Calibration
Move WIP material
Painting and floor cleaning as necessary
Complete 5S action items as assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Knowledge of safe work practices including working with solvents and overhead crane use.
Good communication skills.
Preferred Education/Training/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
