Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste.

Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) seeks a Construction Field Lead to join the Tank Farm Projects (TFP) organization. The Construction Field Lead will apply an extensive and diversified knowledge of Construction principles and practices in assignments and related work.
The specific duties of the Construction Field Lead will include but are not limited to the following:
Assist Construction Managers observing subcontractors perform field work.
Work with a Buyer Technical Representative and the Construction Manager to revise work scope as needed to meet field conditions.
Interface with other H2C organizations (ESH&Q, Procurement, Engineering, Operations) in the preparation, issuance, and performance of construction contracts for H2C.
Perform routine field walk downs of constructions sites and interface with subcontractor management.
Ensure that facility/site conditions effecting or potentially impacting risk the construction work are defined for the construction planning.
Provide project status to the Construction Manager.
Assist with entries into the Contract Action Log.
In the absence of the Construction Manager, is responsible for initial control of construction work site and communication to the Construction Manager, Central Shift Office, Manager of Construction, and Project Safety in the event of an abnormal occurrence
Notify the Construction Manager if unforeseen issues potentially impact the construction planning or project baseline.
Attend Pre-Job Meetings.
Review Daily Manpower Reports provided by the Subcontractor.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed to facilitate project milestones.
Must take prompt action to accomplish assigned objectives and understand/identify issues and opportunities.
Demonstrate interpolative thinking, utilizes advanced techniques, modifications, or extensions to practiced theories, and is generally seasoned technically.
Comply with H2C policies and procedures.
Ensure ISMS Principles are incorporated into organization's activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Grade 19:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 9 years of experience in construction, decommission, demolition activities and radiologically controlled areas, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Grade 20:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 10 years of experience in construction, decommission, demolition activities and radiologically controlled areas, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Desired Qualifications
*Experience in Department of Energy nuclear facility
*Extensive experience with high-risk radiological controls and work practices.
*Experience performing in leadership positions.
*Knowledge in developing work control products.
*Experience with radioactive waste retrieval process, removing legacy equipment and installing new retrieval equipment.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $119,813
Hiring Range Maximum: $166,263
