Entry-Level Facilities Technician / HVAC Technician

Contract-to-Hire | On-site | Virginia Beach, VA

We are seeking a Facilities Technician / HVAC Technician to support equipment maintenance and operations at a local shop in Virginia Beach, with future work at a major industrial site nearby. This role is ideal for candidates eager to learn, gain experience, and grow into a long-term technical career.

What You'll Do

Load and unload HVAC, power, and mechanical equipment safely

Perform basic preventative maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently

Assist with minor repairs on HVAC, generators, compressors, pumps, and related equipment

Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues under guidance from experienced technicians

Follow safety procedures and operational processes

Help reduce equipment downtime through proactive maintenance

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

1-3 years of experience OR recent education/training in HVAC, mechanical, or facilities maintenance

EPA Universal Certification (required)

Basic understanding of:

HVAC systems (A/C, heat, ventilation)

Generators and power distribution

Diesel-driven pumps and equipment

Willingness to learn troubleshooting and preventative maintenance

Nice to Have (Not Required)

Exposure to hydraulics or electronics

Facilities or industrial maintenance experience

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Start in a Virginia Beach shop environment

Transition to supporting equipment at a nearby industrial worksite

Work performed indoors and outdoors

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 25 lbs or more

Safety-focused environment with established procedures

Position Details

Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Schedule: Full-time

Placement Type: Contract to Hire

Duration: 6 months

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00/hour

Overtime: Paid at 1.5x

Start Date: ASAP

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
