Job Title: Diesel Mechanic - Heavy Equipment

Job Description

As a Diesel Mechanic specializing in heavy equipment, you will perform daily inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment. Your work will involve servicing equipment both in the field with a company-provided service truck and in a shop environment as needed. Detailed documentation of repairs made is required.

Responsibilities

Conduct daily inspections and preventative maintenance on construction equipment.

Diagnose and repair equipment issues both in the field and in the shop.

Service a variety of equipment including loaders (980 CAT), pavers, milling machines, rollers, scrapers, excavators, compaction equipment, asphalt paving equipment, and CAT 6090.

Maintain accurate documentation of all repairs and services performed.

Essential Skills

Proven experience as a diesel mechanic working with heavy equipment.

Proficiency in diagnostics and repair of construction machinery.

Strong understanding of diesel engines and emissions systems.

Valid driver's license and a clean MVR (no DUI or reckless driving offenses).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with CAT equipment is beneficial.

5+ years of experience as a mechanic on heavy equipment.

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday through Saturday from 7am to 5pm, with potential for overtime exceeding 60 hours depending on the asphalt schedule. Work begins at the Lipan plant, covering a service territory within a 50-mile radius in Colorado (from Longmont to Sedalia). Expect to spend 80% of your time in the field at job sites, utilizing a company truck for travel.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $79040.00/yr.
