Job Title: Head of Global Procurement
Job Description
The Head of Global Procurement leads all sourcing and procurement operations, driving cost efficiencies, supplier excellence, and operational scalability through robust global procurement strategies and effective use of ERP systems. This role shapes and executes the procurement vision for North America in alignment with global teams, supports business growth and innovation, and ensures high standards of quality and compliance within the nutraceutical and related manufacturing sectors.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy for North America that supports the broader Americas region and aligns with global business growth and operational goals.
Lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize sourcing strategies, improve supplier performance, and deliver measurable cost savings.
Collaborate closely with executive leadership to support expansion plans, innovation initiatives, and sustainability objectives.
Oversee end-to-end procurement processes, including strategic sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing supplier management.
Implement, manage, and continuously optimize ERP systems (with a preference for SAP) to enhance procurement visibility, data integrity, and process efficiency.
Ensure procurement activities comply with all relevant regulatory standards and quality requirements specific to the nutraceutical and related manufacturing industries.
Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with production needs, inventory goals, and financial targets.
Identify, evaluate, and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining or improving product quality, service levels, and regulatory compliance.
Support sustainability and innovation initiatives by incorporating responsible and strategic sourcing practices into procurement decisions.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing procurement team, providing clear direction, coaching, and development opportunities.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and strategic thinking within the procurement function.
Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness across the supply base.
Monitor market trends, supply risks, and global sourcing dynamics, particularly in key regions such as China, and proactively adjust sourcing strategies as needed.
Oversee procurement activities for both direct materials (all raw materials critical to production) and indirect categories (CAPEX, MRO supplies, third-party services, and general materials).
Drive initiatives in supplier performance management, risk assessment, inventory management, and budget management to support operational excellence.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the launch and scaling of new production lines, including expanded capabilities in gummy and softgel manufacturing.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven success in strategic sourcing, cost reduction, and supplier management within manufacturing environments.
Industry experience in nutraceutical or personal care, with flexibility to related sectors such as food, beverage, or flavor manufacturing.
Experience working with softgel or gummy products is highly beneficial.
Global procurement experience, with specific experience working with suppliers in China preferred.
Strong proficiency in ERP systems, with SAP preferred.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience building, developing, and managing high-performing teams.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Deep knowledge of procurement, global sourcing, and global procurement best practices.
Experience in supplier performance management, risk assessment, inventory management, and budget management.
Proficiency in applying lean manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma principles within procurement or supply chain @contexts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
MBA or advanced degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
Professional supply chain or procurement certifications are preferred, such as Lean Six Sigma (White, Yellow, Green, or Black Belt), CSCMP, CPSM, CLTD, or CSCP.
Experience in nutraceutical, food manufacturing, flavor, or personal care industries.
Leadership development experience, including coaching and mentoring team members.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across operations, finance, R&D, and other cross-functional teams.
Ability to support and drive sustainability and innovation initiatives through strategic sourcing.
Comfort working with a diverse supplier base and managing complex global supply chains.

This is a Permanent position based out of City of Industry, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $180000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
Health, vision, dental Unlimited PTO 20 % bonus Possibility for LTIP once it's officially in place
