The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) seeks a skilled professional to support financial planning, analysis, and management within our agency. This position is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and analyzing budgets, as well as assisting with fiscal forecasts and reporting to ensure compliance with state and agency guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop, review, and track the agencys operating, capital, and program budgets.

Analyze budget proposals, expenditures, and funding requests to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Prepare, evaluate, and present detailed financial reports to management, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

Assist in the preparation of biennial legislative appropriations requests and other state-mandated financial documents.

Collaborate with program managers and department leaders to provide guidance on fiscal matters and resolve budget-related issues.

Monitor and report on the status of funds, appropriations, and expenditures; ensure proper allocation and use of resources.

Participate in the development and implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures to support sound financial management.

Conduct research and provide recommendations for budget adjustments, reallocation of resources, or process improvements.

Support audits and respond to requests for information from internal and external stakeholders.

Stay current on state budget laws, rules, and fiscal policies; ensure agency compliance with relevant statutes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in budget preparation, financial analysis, and reporting.

Knowledge of governmental accounting principles, state budget processes, and fiscal regulations.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.

Ability to interpret and apply financial data, statutes, and policies.

Experience using financial management systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

High attention to detail, organizational skills, and capacity to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or related field.

Prior experience in public sector budgeting, financial analysis, or accounting.

Familiarity with Texas state government budget procedures and systems.
