Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work.## Job OverviewOur Asset Protection Security team uses advanced technology and analytics tools to reduce shortages and protect our bottom line. As an Asset Protection Detective, you will receive expert training and develop your skills in this role. You will create and foster relationships with store teams and local law enforcement agencies. Our goal is to protect company assets while maintaining a safe, customer?centric shopping environment.Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week. Macy's offers a dynamic, inclusive environment with competitive pay and benefits.- Comprehensive health and wellness benefits- 401(k) with company match- Paid time off and eight paid holidays- Continuous learning and leadership development- Colleague Resource Groups and volunteer opportunitiesAdditional benefits include:- Merchandise discounts- Performance-based incentives- Annual merit review- Employee Assistance Program with mental health counseling and legal/financial support## What You Will Do- Use surveillance techniques to identify and apprehend shoplifters and dishonest employees- Apply de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues- Recover stolen merchandise- Research incidents and provide statements and evidence for investigations- Prepare detailed reports on theft incidents, investigations, and audits- Ensure strict compliance with laws and company policies regarding apprehensions and evidence handling- Build partnerships with store teams and local law enforcement- Testify in criminal and civil court cases as required- Train colleagues on asset protection protocols- Respond to alarms and complete special assignments- Provide basic first aid to customers and colleagues when necessary- Promote an inclusive and respectful workplace culture## Who You Are- Available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays with dependable attendance- A resourceful self-starter who adapts to changing priorities- Able to communicate effectively with diverse customers and colleagues- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team- Willing to obtain and maintain required licenses, training, and certifications- High School Diploma or equivalentNote:** For jobs in New York, a New York State Security Guard License is required.## Essential Physical Requirements- Extended periods of walking and standing with occasional quick movement- Apprehension of subjects in accordance with company policy- Ability to hear, see clearly, distinguish colors, and adjust focus- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching above eye level- Ability to remain in enclosed areas for long periods- Ability to lift and move items up to 30 pounds## About UsThis is a great time to join Macy's.
