Job Title: Entry Level CNC Machinist
Job Description
This entry-level CNC Machinist role supports the production of precision hydraulic and power solutions components in a structured, team-focused manufacturing environment. The position is well suited for individuals with basic machining knowledge or technical training who want to develop their CNC skills while working with experienced professionals and modern CNC equipment.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and/or mills, under supervision.
Load raw materials into machines and unload finished parts safely and efficiently.
Perform basic machine offsets and tool changes according to training and instructions.
Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and part prints to produce accurate components.
Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect parts.
Complete required quality checks and accurately document results in line with process requirements.
Monitor machine performance during production runs and promptly report issues to leads or supervisors.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standards.
Support continuous improvement activities and follow lean manufacturing practices to enhance productivity and quality.
Essential Skills
Foundational knowledge of CNC machining and machining processes.
Ability to set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes under supervision.
Familiarity with Fanuc or similar CNC controls.
Basic blueprint reading skills, including interpreting part prints and work instructions.
Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Basic shop math skills to support measurement, setup, and verification activities.
Experience or exposure to high-volume or precision manufacturing environments.
Prior exposure to hydraulics or metal machining processes.
Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain an organized work area.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Technical training or coursework in machining, manufacturing, or a related field.
Experience operating CNC machines in a production environment.
Familiarity with CNC programming concepts or willingness to learn programming basics.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production setting.
Willingness to work different shifts and perform overtime as needed, including occasional Saturdays.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing facility operating multiple shifts with one position available on each shift. Standard shift options include a first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and a third shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Training typically occurs on first shift and generally lasts one to two months for those moving to an off-shift, depending on the candidate. Second shift employees receive a 7% premium over the base hourly rate, and third shift employees receive a 10% premium over the base hourly rate. The position may require 5 to 10 hours of overtime, and Saturday work is possible depending on the week and time of year. The environment is production-oriented, with hands-on work at CNC mills and lathes using Fanuc or similar controls and precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers. Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and wear appropriate shop-appropriate attire and personal protective equipment as required for a machining and manufacturing setting.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
