Job Title: 1st Shift Assembler - Aerospace Department
Job Description
This 1st Shift Assembler position supports the aerospace division, where precision aluminum heat pipes are manufactured, cleaned, tested, and inspected. You will work on a daytime schedule assisting with machine operation, sanding and polishing, cleaning, and detailed inspection of high-value components used in demanding thermal management applications.
Responsibilities
Assist machine operators by selecting the correct machine program and starting the machine according to established procedures.
Oversee saw operation to ensure aluminum pipes are cut accurately to exact specifications.
Learn and perform the bending process for aluminum pipes, following detailed work instructions.
Handle aluminum pipes carefully and guide them through a thorough cleaning process in strict accordance with specifications, recognizing that aerospace products are extremely high value and must be handled with exceptional care.
Perform testing and inspection activities, including leak testing and related quality checks, to verify that each part meets required standards.
Work at a sanding station to carry out hands-on sanding and polishing of aluminum heat pipes, performing highly detailed and repetitive tasks with consistent quality.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient production.
Follow all safety, quality, and production guidelines while collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors.
Essential Skills
High level of attention to detail, especially when working with small parts or precision assemblies.
Experience with small parts assembly or machining, with a focus on accuracy and care.
Strong soft skills, including reliability, communication, and the ability to work well within a team-oriented culture.
Stable work history demonstrating commitment and reliability.
Ability to follow detailed work instructions and quality standards.
High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Machine shop experience is a plus and will support success in machine operation and metalworking tasks.
Experience with brazing, soldering, or related metal joining processes is beneficial.
Background in assembly, inspection, or general machine operation is advantageous.
Comfort with repetitive, hands-on tasks such as sanding and polishing.
Willingness to learn new processes and cross-train within the production environment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility within the aerospace division, focused on producing high-precision aluminum heat pipes for demanding applications such as satellites, vehicles, medical devices, and HVAC systems. You will work 1st shift hours, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with every other Friday off, providing a predictable daytime schedule. The environment includes machine operation, saw cutting, sanding and polishing stations, cleaning processes, and testing and inspection areas. You will work closely with a department manager and technician support within a structured divisional setup. The facility emphasizes quality, safety, and careful handling of high-value components. The dress code is casual and practical for a production setting: jeans, t-shirt, and closed-toe shoes, with sneakers acceptable.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
