Job Title: 3rd Shift High Reach Forklift Operator
Job Description
This role involves operating both stand-up and sit-down forklifts to supply materials to production assemblers and to move completed parts to shipping for delivery. You will support production flow by ensuring materials are staged accurately and on time, and you may also work in the shipping and receiving area to load and unload trucks with finished parts. The position requires safe, efficient forklift operation in a fast-paced warehouse environment with tight spaces and high traffic.
Responsibilities
Operate both stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently in a busy warehouse environment.
Supply assemblers with the correct materials for production in a timely manner to support continuous workflow.
Transport completed parts from production areas to the shipping department for delivery.
Load and unload trucks in the shipping and receiving area with completed parts and materials as needed.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain strong situational awareness in areas with tight quarters and high forklift and pedestrian traffic.
Conduct basic equipment checks before operation to ensure forklifts are in safe working condition.
Handle materials carefully to prevent damage to parts, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
Work collaboratively with production, shipping, and warehouse teams to coordinate material flow and meet operational deadlines.
Complete assigned tasks within established timeframes while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Participate in any required forklift testing or evaluations to demonstrate safe and effective equipment operation.
Essential Skills
Proven ability to operate both stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and effectively.
Ability to pass a forklift test demonstrating safe and competent operation of the necessary equipment.
Experience working in a warehouse, material handling, or shipping and receiving environment.
Strong attention to safety, especially when working in tight quarters with multiple forklifts and personnel.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment while maintaining accuracy.
Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to operational procedures.
Physical ability to work on your feet and perform material handling tasks throughout the shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience as a forklift operator in production or distribution environments.
Experience in material handling, warehouse operations, shipping, or receiving.
Comfort operating in both stand-up and sit-down forklift configurations, with willingness to work where assigned.
Willingness to participate in additional training or coaching to improve forklift skills if needed.

Work Environment
The work takes place in a fast-paced, customer-focused warehouse and production support facility. You will operate forklifts in areas with tight quarters and significant forklift and pedestrian traffic, requiring constant attention to safety and surroundings. The facility is not climate controlled, so temperatures can be warm in the summer and cool in the winter. This is a union environment, and employees are expected to pay union dues in accordance with union policies. The role follows structured shift schedules: first shift typically runs Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with possible additional hours before or after the shift, and third shift runs Monday night through Thursday night from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Work attire should be appropriate for a warehouse setting and variable temperatures, with any required safety gear used as directed.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.21 - $21.21/hr.
