Job Title: Account Development Executive - Portland, ORJob Description
This is an exciting opportunity to help launch a new local delivery program in the Portland, OR area. In this role, you recruit small and medium local businesses to join a hub delivery partner program, working closely with a Field Manager and other local contractors. You will spend most of your time in the field visiting prospective businesses, pitching the program, qualifying leads, guiding them through the application process, and supporting community-based recruitment events. The position involves regular travel within a two-hour driving radius and offers uncapped commission based on each partner you successfully convert.
Responsibilities
Visit prospective local businesses door to door in targeted towns within approximately a two-hour driving distance from Portland.
Present and clearly pitch the new delivery program opportunity to prospective businesses and generate interest in applying.
Qualify prospective businesses to ensure they meet program criteria and guide them step by step through the application process.
Lead and track all prospecting and follow-up activities in Salesforce, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date pipeline.
Support the Field Manager in planning, coordinating, and hosting recruitment events in the community, such as lunch-and-learn sessions and town hall meetings.
Collaborate with the Field Manager to build relationships with local influencers and organizations, including chambers of commerce and economic development associations, to drive referrals.
Import and manage Excel spreadsheets in Salesforce on a weekly basis to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
Conduct outbound prospecting activities, including follow-up calls and outreach, to move businesses through the funnel from interest to launch.
Provide exceptional customer service to prospective partners by answering questions, addressing concerns, and resolving issues that may arise during the application process.
Demonstrate professionalism and a high sense of urgency in all interactions with business owners, community partners, and internal stakeholders.
Work primarily in the field (approximately 80% of the time) with the remaining time spent at home on follow-up, administrative tasks, and CRM updates.
Travel up to four hours round trip daily as needed to cover assigned territories and attend community recruitment events.
Essential Skills
At least 2+ years of experience in sales and/or customer service.
Proven outside or field sales experience.
CRM experience required, with Salesforce strongly preferred.
Strong prospecting skills and comfort with outbound calls and outreach.
Demonstrated sales management capabilities, including pipeline management and follow-up.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to negotiate and influence decision-makers in a business-to-business environment.
High level of professionalism, reliability, and enthusiasm for working with others.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to solve problems for applicants in the field.
Tech-savvy and comfortable working with multiple systems, tools, and technology platforms.
Ability to travel up to four hours round trip on a daily basis as required by the territory.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bilingual abilities are a plus and can help build stronger relationships with diverse local businesses.
Previous experience in field sales or outside sales is a strong advantage.
Prior experience in a role involving sales and/or negotiation with customers is highly beneficial.
Experience working with Excel spreadsheets and importing data into CRM systems.
Background in customer-facing roles such as account management, business development, or customer success.
Interest in building community partnerships and supporting small businesses in local markets.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership over results.
Work Environment
This role is based in the Portland, OR area and is primarily field-based. You will spend approximately 80% of your time in the field visiting local businesses and attending community events, and about 20% of your time working from home on follow-up, administrative tasks, and CRM updates. The position requires daily travel within a radius of up to a two-hour drive (up to four hours round trip), so you should be comfortable driving and working independently in different neighborhoods and nearby towns. You will collaborate closely with a Field Manager and other local contractors, leveraging tools such as Salesforce and Excel to manage your pipeline and report on activity. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.50 - $28.50/hr.
