The position requires the preparation of annual income tax returns. This person will also be responsible for assisting in audit management and monitoring tax compliance. This position requires a high standard of integrity, service, and hospitality at all times to promote the Drury culture with co-workers, vendors & customers. Job Duties: Exemplifies a +1 Service attitude and provides courteous, friendly customer service by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries and requests. Maintains sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner and maintains discretion and confidentiality in all matters. Coordinates the income tax function including reporting, planning, and compliance functions. Coordinates the preparation of income tax work papers. Prepares and files annual income tax returns of Drury Hotels Company. Coordinates the annual tax return review performed by the approved consulting vendor. Provides information requests and tax filings to Drury Hotels Company stakeholders. Prepares income tax extensions and assists with tax notices as needed. Maintains tax depreciation software and book-to-tax reconciliation. Coordinates necessary tax registrations for new Drury hotel locations / legal entities. Assisting with coordinating state/local sales tax audits; gathering of records and reviewing exhibits. Assisting with performing sales, use and occupancy tax research and monitoring compliance in multiple states. Assisting with resolution of various tax notices, tax clearance letters and closing accounts. Provides assistance to other departments and special projects. Performs other duties as assigned. Requires ability to maintain effective working relationships with vendors and service providers. Must have the ability to work efficiently and independently. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or relevant income tax experience required. 3 - 5 years of relevant experience preferred. Form 1065 preparation experience preferred. Workday experience preferred. CCH ProSystem Fx experience preferred. Sage Fixed Assets experience preferred. Advanced Excel knowledge required. Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in or knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office. Must have the ability to do data entry with efficiency and accuracy. May require a minimum of one week dedicated rGuest Stay training at a selected hotel in all aspects of the property management system. High level of interpersonal skills to handle and maintain sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Keen attention to detail in drafting and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
