The University of Maryland, Baltimore's (UMB) Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science (PTRS) within the School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for/two positions/as anAcademic Services Specialistfor the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) academic program. The Academic Services Specialist is responsible for the administrative coordination of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) academic program. This position is responsible for organizing and maintaining specified operational and administrative functions of the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science (PTRS), and to serve as a resource for students, faculty, and staff by coordinating academic activities, programs, events, and extracurricular seminars. PRIMARY DUTIES Coordinate the full academic operation for one of three DPT cohorts including, but not limited to, course registration, grade submission, exam preparation, performance-based assessments, and/or clinical placements, ensuring optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies and procedures. Act as a resource and support for all students within the cohort, helping to navigate departmental and university-wide issues. Communicate and respond to student questions and concerns and work with students to resolve all issues to ensure ongoing satisfaction with the program and successful progress to completion. Respond to academic or professional concerns within the student population, offering a range of interventions, from strategies for improvement to professionalism contracts. Distribute and monitor Interim Block Notices for students that fail to meet performance standards on assessments. Act as a function lead for one or more program-level responsibilities such as: student attendance management, exam proctoring schedule, room management, workstudy task assignments, and clinical site management. Confer with and advise staff, students, faculty, and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, and answers to questions. Refer issues to an appropriate resource when unable to respond. Lead the department's planning for assigned annual events. Enhance student experience by arranging extracurricular seminars, study sessions, or workshops. Prepare periodic reports and records on academic program activities, progress, status, or other special reports for management. Create surveys to collect data and analyze data for reports. Work within multiple department systems to effectively support the DPT program to include Blackboard, SEAtS, Office R&D, Core Elms, webCPI, BANNER, ExamSoft, Survey Monkey. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree. Experience: Two (2) years of experience. Prior experience in program support, project management, or data management, preferably in higher education. High level of Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Forms, Teams), SurveyMonkey, and Eventleaf. Ability to be proficient using the following Blackboard, Constant Contact, Web CPI, and CORE ELMS.
