The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking a full time, on-campus, Administrative Specialist (CL2) for Gentile Hall.
This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of Gentile Hall with a high degree of independence and professionalism. This position is responsible for managing facility access, collaborating with the Assistant Athletic Director-Gentile Hall, Aquatics Manager, and the Director of the Campus Center. Responsibilities include handling financial transactions, maintaining documentation, assisting with swim lesson registrations, and assisting in daily operations of Gentile Hall. The successful candidate will be confident, diplomatic, and solution-oriented, with the ability to enforce policies respectfully and effectively across a wide range of ages and situations.
The starting rate for this full-time, on-campus position is $19.61 (non-negotiable) for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within the ACSUM collective bargaining unit. In addition, the University will contribute up to a 4% matching contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and sufficient experience, including two years of administrative support experience.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent record of interpersonal, written, and oral communication, organization, and technology skills.
Ability to oversee and train student employees and provide ongoing guidance about their work with members or those participating in a special event.
Ability to function independently and creatively with minimal supervision.
Excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience within a college or university setting.
Administrative support experience.
Experience working in a recreational setting and/or pool operations background is a plus.
