Primary Purpose of Position
Protect the health and welfare of the public by defending the station against any act of radiological sabotage, attack, or theft of special nuclear material. As specified by procedure and the site security plan, maintain a secure perimeter for site access and egress and employee, contractor and visitor entry. Perform search, patrol, and inspections in accordance with the Station Security Plan, procedures, and post orders.

Respond to threats and contingency events
Perform equipment testing
Acts as a member of an Armed Response Force to provide physical protection of Constellation nuclear clean energy centers and evaluate adversarial actions to prevent intrusion and acts of sabotage.
Conduct armed stationary, foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior).
Control access and/or egress of personnel, materials and vehicles.
Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), plant surveillance equipment and alarm systems.
Deter criminal activity, misconduct, and safety violations.
Maintains and implements extensive NRC requirements and Federal/State Laws for site protection and protected area access control.
Participate in initial and annual formal training program to complete class and field qualifications necessary to be an armed Nuclear Security Officer
Responsible for accurate documentation and record keeping, as required by federal and corporate guidelines.
Maintains thorough knowledge of plant to adequately initiate and maintain site defensive strategy
All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have a High School diploma or GED
Must be able to obtain and maintain nuclear unescorted access
Must meet minimum state requirements to carry a firearm
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
Must have and maintain a REAL ID and/or an ID that is REAL ID compliant in accordance with the REAL ID ACT
Must pass any State and Federal required training or other qualifications for licensing
Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test with negative results. Constellation follows federal NRC legal requirements for marijuana and medical marijuana, regardless of whether it is legalized in the state of application. A positive test, including for THC or marijuana, will impact the ability to obtain unescorted access to the nuclear power plant which is a required condition of employment
Must be able to pass extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and educational verifications, and credit check
Must be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors and surveillance equipment
Must be able to successfully complete all training required for the position, including but not limited to a physical fitness test, firearms qualification, and nuclear site-specific training and testing providing general knowledge of nuclear power generation science and principles
Must be able to successfully pass the following in accordance with code of federal regulations and site training and qualification plan for armed nuclear security assignment: Psychological assessment, as appropriate, and physical exams, including vision and hearing
Demonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
Ability to transit to work location and/or posts (Walk, Climb Stairs, Climb Ladder, Conduct Routine Rounds, etc.)
Ability to access and egress Bullet Resistant Enclosure (BRE) Towers
Ability to manually carry, lift, or handle gear
Body positioning (Stand, Sit, Kneel, Bend, Squat, Reach Over Shoulder Height)
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and forced overtime
Must meet and comply with all other requirements under NRC, 10 CFR Part 26 & Appendix B to Part 73-General Criteria for Security Personnel
Preferred Qualifications
Prior military experience
Prior law enforcement experience or Criminal Justice degree
Prior commercial security/loss prevention experience
