Kean Ocean Campus IT Liaison
The Kean Ocean Campus IT Liaison (Professional Services Specialist 3, Computer Services) is a newly established position within Kean Information Technology, created to strengthen Kean's on-site IT presence at the Kean Ocean campus location, in Toms River, New Jersey.
Reporting directly to the Managing Assistant Director of Business Support, this role ensures that students, faculty, and staff at Kean Ocean receive timely, high-quality technical support and strategic coordination in alignment with main campus IT support. The Kean Ocean Campus IT Liaison will serve as the point of contact for all technology-related needs, bridging support services between the Kean Ocean campus and Kean IT to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and consistency of service delivery. This role enhances operational reliability, improves communication between campuses, and strengthens the overall user experience. The Kean Ocean Campus IT Liaison ensures that the university's commitment to excellence in technology support extends seamlessly across all campus locations.
This position is primarily based at the Kean Ocean campus location. This employee is expected to work on site at Kean Ocean or at one of the Kean campus locations. This position requires travel, including travel to the main campus in Union and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: data processing, installation and maintenance of application programs, technical support, design and preparation of IT programs and/or IT help desk support. Applicants may substitute a Master's degree for one year of the required experience. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. Candidate must have a strong understanding of hardware and software troubleshooting, network connectivity, and AV system support; excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities; and strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on user experience and customer service. Preferred qualifications include: professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL, or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals; experience supporting educational or multi-site environments; and familiarity with enterprise systems such as Intune, Entra ID, and ServiceNow.
This is a Civil Service position. The selected candidate will be required to pass a four (4) month Working Test Period.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is: $64,340.11 - $79,200.91 (Steps 1-6). Salaries for internal applicants will be based on union negotiated calculations. This position may also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, a retirement plan and benefits for work life balance. Employment at Kean requires working at any of our New Jersey campus locations or affiliated work sites, which may include, but not be limited to: the main campus in Union; Kean Ocean in Toms River; Kean Skylands in Jefferson Township; Kean Jersey City; Kean at Brookdale in Middletown Township; Manahawkin; Princeton; and Trenton. Location assignments will be based on operational and university needs. Faculty may also be assigned to teach online classes for Kean Global.
