Our Applied Science practice leverages a unique combination of technologies and expertise to engineer practical solutions to problems of national and international importance. We apply expertise in solid and fluid dynamics, materials science, acoustics, risk assessments, and computational simulation methods to solve complex problems. We perform research, mathematical modeling, software development, and design to manage risks to life safety in military platforms and installations, ships and submarines, critical infrastructure, tall buildings, public facilities, industrial and petrochemical plants, and automotive and airborne vehicles. Military, government, corporate, and academic clients value the validation of Applied Science's software and the critical insights gained from correlating analysis with testing.

The Role

We have an opportunity for an Engineer Intern for our Applied Science Practice. This is a full-time internship for Summer 2026.

Responsibilities

We are supporting some phases of the engineering and design analysis for various industrial and laboratory projects ranging from programming through construction administration, under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer.

Researching and interpreting applicable codes and standards.

Coordinates and guides preparation of construction documents with BIM staff and internal quality staff.

Requirements

Undergraduate or graduate student specializing in engineering, applied mechanics, or a related field.

Excellent academic record.

Experience in Revit, MicroStation, and AutoCAD is helpful but not required.

EIT is not a requirement, but a plus.

Compensation

The rate for this position generally is $25 - $35 hourly. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
