As a key member of the executive team, you will:
Provide high-level executive support for senior leadership (i.e. Deputy Commissioner, Chief of Staff and Assistant Commissioners).
Liaison and Communicate as the primary point of contact for internal/external stakeholders.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion with professionalism.
Assess urgent or complex issues
The Telework Policy (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) exempts employees who live more than 50 miles from their primary work location from the 50% in-office requirement to help the State of Minnesota benefit from top talent in every corner of the state.
MDH relies heavily on grant funding, in addition to state appropriated dollars. As an agency, we continually monitor funding levels and navigate some degree of uncertainty to grant cycles and the impact of the grant funding on program priorities. This position is currently funded and approved to be filled. While the position is funded, at this time, future funding is dependent on the continuation of our funding sources. The Minnesota Department of Health works proactively to sustain programs and maintain our workforce, to avoid reductions in force to the very best of our ability. In the event of a loss of funding resulting in a necessary workforce reduction, that process is governed by our collective bargaining agreements and compensation plans.
Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of executive assistant or office administrator experience supporting multiple managers.
This experience must include:
Effective communication skills including the ability to draft, review and edit correspondence.
Skill in using business grammar, spelling, and punctuation to write, develop and edit reports, letters, procedures, presentations, and other documents.
Advanced proficiency in the use of technology and business software such as Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, multi-line phones, and video conferencing.
Proven experience in high-level administrative support or executive assistance.
Minimum Qualifications to be assessed during the interview process:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing demands.
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
A Business Administration or related degree will substitute for experience as follows: Doctorate degree may substitute for two years of experience; master's degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of experience; associate degree may substitute for six months of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience supporting C-Suite executives (CEO, CFO, COO, or CIO) in a government or large organizational setting.
Knowledge of the MDH's organization structure, policies and procedures, mission and goals, legislative process, program budgets, as well as laws and regulations governing department functions and personnel.
Knowledge of government or public sector administration procedures (e.g. legislative processes, state government policies, and inter-agency communications).
Technical proficiency in office technology, including desktop support and network access coordination.
Familiarity with the broader public health and government ecosystem.
