Physical Therapist Wanted - Newton - Danbury Hospital Outpatient - Full Time

$20,000 SIGN ON BONUS

Monday/Wednesday 7:30 am- 3:30pm, Tuesday/Thursday 9:30 am -7 pm, Friday 7:30 am - 3pm

Summary:

Physical Therapists provide services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain. Clinical responsibilities may include treatment of pediatric and/or adults and mature adults. May treat in any of these locations: in-patient, out-patient and pediatrics.

Responsibilities:

Performs physical therapy evaluations on patients with complex diagnoses.

Performs physical therapy treatment planning and implementation for complex patients. Utilizes appropriate interventions, procedures & equipment as defined by specialty area.

Provides patient/family education and training.

Provides peer reviews and participates in performance improvement activities.

Documentation is completed based on department guidelines.

Initiates discharge planning.

Continuing education: attends 20 hours of general continuing education per year, OR matriculates in advanced Masters program, provides 10 hours of inservice education to staff per year.

Provides full time clinical experience to student and community education lectures.

Acts as mentor to lower level staff and new staff.

Assists with annual competency training and verification.

Assists with scheduling patients and achieving appropriate staffing.

Provides coverage in supervisor's absence as requested.

Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Information:

Required: CPR certification.

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
