Role Summary
The AOG Response Specialist is responsible for resolving Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) events by developing and executing logistics, sourcing, and procurement solutions for Alaska Airlines (AS). As an individual contributor, this role applies industry expertise to address urgent material needs, collaborates with Engineering and other stakeholders to develop strategies that reduce AOG occurrences, and recommends process improvements across the supply chain. The specialist exercises sound judgment in decision-making, mentors team members, and serves as a subject matter expert in aircraft material logistics, procurement, and sourcing.
Key Duties
AOG Response Specialist (P2) Intermediate level
Analyze and administer system-wide material support for Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG), deferred maintenance, and heavy maintenance requirements.??
Create and manages overall life cycle of requisition through to receipt, issuance of material to the aircraft, and return of off-units.??
Review technical acceptance and make a recommendation, utilizing aircraft technical manual of the units, to the aircraft in respect to aircraft material effectivity, to ensure compliance with maintenance manual references.??
Partner with various M&E stakeholders and any other mandated programs to resolve AOG event(s)??
Manage arrival time for materials to the Maintenance Operations Manager on duty and immediately report any change of status which will affect aircraft ready time (ETR).?
Maintain awareness of applicable regulations and limitations concerning deferred maintenance items, as outlined in the Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL), Planning Time Controlled (PLT), and Borrowed Part (BP) guidelines, as documented in the General-Purpose Manual (GPM).
Sr. AOG Response Specialist (P3) Senior level
Orchestrate system-wide material support for Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG), deferred maintenance, and heavy maintenance requirements.
Applies deep knowledge in AOG material requirements to make recommendations to reduce future AOG event(s).
Develop and implement process, procedures and best practices to improve material requirement support.
Assist leadership in training the AOG Response Specialist II as necessary.
Analyze material shortages and manages replenishment activities with Material and Repairs Control to support sourcing and delivering quality materials that best support the operational schedule, with each decision considering location, availability, cost, and speed of execution with overall financial performance as a factor.
With minimal direction from leadership, exercise considerable judgement to make decisions in non-stock materials required for deferred maintenance.
Guide AOG Response Specialists II with sourcing, procurement and logistics when necessary.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by complying with Safety Management System (SMS) and Company policies and procedures as well as Federal Regulations.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required at the Professional 2 level
2 years of experience in material support department (e.g., stores, repairs, purchasing, material control, or maintenance), preferably in an airline or third-party maintenance vendor operation.
Bachelor's degree with a focus in business, or 2 years of experience in procurement and logistics or related area in lieu of this degree.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to prioritize and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.?
Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).?
Comfortable interfacing with all levels within the Maintenance & Engineering organization.?
Preferred?
Experience in procurement and logistics.?
Knowledge relating to the transportation of aircraft materials.?
Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) proficiency and other related aircraft manuals.?
Required at the Professional 3 level
4 years of experience in material support department (e.g., stores, repairs, purchasing, material control, or maintenance), preferably in an airline or third-party maintenance vendor operation.?
Bachelor's degree or an additional 2 years of relevant training/experience in material support in lieu of this degree.?
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, in the execution of all areas of responsibility.?
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).?
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to prioritize and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.?

78,300-149,800 / year
Pay Details
Intermediate Level: $78,300-$117,450
Senior Level: $99,850-$149,800
