As a Large Group Account Manager in the Central Region, you'll serve as a strategic partner to key clients, focused on retention, growth, and long-term success. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and deliver customized solutions aligned to each client's unique needs. This includes navigating managed care products, underwriting considerations, and alternative funding strategies, while serving as a consistent, credible point of contact for large group customers.
Success in this role means earning client trust, anticipating needs, and proactively delivering value in a fast-paced environment. You bring strong relationship management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable solutions. A Tennessee Life and Health License is required to effectively support and advise your client portfolio.

Note:
This is a remote role with occasional travel to BCBST corporate offices in Chattanooga, TN as well as to customers and broker meetings.

Job Responsibilities
Developing new business opportunities; building and managing long-term relationships with one or more existing/potential major clients within the assigned territory.
Analyzing business needs, loss experience and other factors with key customers to regularly adjust products, services and terms received and address customer needs.
Communicating effectively with and coordinating the efforts of key underwriting, administration, loss control and claims staff in support of one or more major clients.
Maintaining a database for a full range of company products, services, target markets and underwriting priorities; ensuring all related practices are consistent with organizational policies and processes.
Job Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment
Experience
2 years - Customer experience in group service and/or account management required
Skills\Certifications
Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
Knowledge of rating and financial arrangements for ""experience-rated"", ASO and other alternative funding
An understanding of Managed Care products, pricing, networks and delivery systems is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of contracts, products, networks, underwriting, billing, claims processing procedures and use of a broker distribution system.
License

Employees who are required to operate either a BCBST-owned vehicle or a personal or rental vehicle for company business on a routine basis will be automatically enrolled into the BCBST Driver Safety Program. The employee will also be required to adhere to the guidelines set forth through the program. This includes, maintaining a valid driver's license, auto insurance compliance with minimum liability requirements; as defined in the "Use of Non BCBST-Owned Vehicle" Policy (for employees driving personal or rental vehicles only); and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR). The definition for "routine basis" is defined as daily, weekly or at regularly schedule times.
