Overview:
Chevron is seeking a Construction Assurance Specialist for non-rotational Bakken based role reporting directly to the Assurance Team Lead on the Wells and Factory Execution (WFE) - Bakken team. The specialist's responsibilities include carrying out assurance engagements aimed at preventing significant injuries and fatalities, following a defined verification and validation (V&V) process with additional construction assurance activities. In addition, this role requires identifying systemic gaps and effectively sharing these findings with leadership. The focus will be on Upstream and Midstream facility and pipeline construction within the WFE organization.
The successful candidate must be able to build strong, collaborative relationships with Chevron and contractor leadership, supervisors, and field personnel. Significant time in the field is expected, coaching and engaging with field personnel and leaders to promote and influence SIF prevention.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Serve as an HSE resource ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Chevron Operational Excellence (OE) standards
Support crews and supervisors with HSE standards, Control of Work and Construction Standards
Coach and engage field personnel through significant field presence and through a HOP lens
Monitor contractor performance for OE compliance
Lead or contribute to HSE performance improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
Drive HSE performance improvement amongst WFE contractors through communication of V&V and Construction Assurance engagement findings
Participation in constructability reviews
Review of engineering standards, construction standards, equipment installation standards and other applicable technical requirements
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma required
5+ years supporting Oil & Gas Upstream and Midstream Facility Construction in an HSE and/or operational role
Preferred Qualifications:
High School diploma required
10+ years supporting Oil & Gas Upstream and Midstream Facility Construction in an operational role
