Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in West Caldwell, New Jersey. In this long-term contract position, you will manage essential accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and month-end processes. This role requires strong attention to detail and proficiency in working with complex invoices and financial data.

Responsibilities:

Process and review accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper allocation to general ledger accounts.

Handle accounts receivable tasks including cash receipts and postings with precision.

Match purchase orders with vendor invoices to maintain accuracy and prepare these for daily computer entry.

Conduct weekly reviews of bills requiring payment and prepare checks or wire transfers in accordance with company procedures.

Scrutinize all payables for accuracy, correct GL allocation, and re-bill as needed.

Assist in monthly closing procedures, ensuring financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

Maintain organized accounts payable files, including filing invoices and updating vendor information.

Review and import general ledger codes into Excel for analysis and reporting.

Monitor financial paperwork, correspondence, and communication with vendors to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Collaborate on complex invoicing processes and provide support as needed. Requirements - A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on accounts payable and receivable.

Proficiency in handling corporate tax, sales tax, and preparing corporate tax returns.

Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger processes.

Experience managing month-end procedures and financial reconciliations.

Proficiency in Excel for importing and analyzing financial data.

Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records and files.

Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in financial processes.
