Summary You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the First Coast Fire and Emergency Services Department of NAVSTA MAYPORT. Responsibilities You will develop and maintain fire or emergency services training records. You will develop training and safety programs in accordance with regulatory agencies (e.g., Department of Defense, Occupational Health and Safety Administration [OSHA], National Fire Protection Association [NFPA]). You will explain work requirements to fire inspectors and other employees related to new or changed procedures. You will prepare strategic plans, facilities master plans, risk assessments, or standard of response coverage documents to ensure operational readiness. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing training to firefighter personnel in the areas of structural, shipboard, aircraft fire protection and prevention and hazardous material response/containment; 2) Maintaining certification records for a fire department to ensure compliance with the DoD Fire Certification Program; 3) Developing course curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials for a firefighter training program; and 4) Analyzing processes related to firefighter training requirements, manpower, and emergency response functions to ensure training program effectiveness. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for this position: Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, Fire Officer III, Fire Inspector I, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Instructor II, Fire Instructor III, HAZMAT Technician, HAZMAT Incident Commander, Airport Fire Firefighter, and National Registry Emergency Technician EMT. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached a copy of your transcript or certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
