Job Summary
The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering invites applications for the position of Graduate Coordinator II. We are seeking a highly organized, service-oriented professional who is passionate about supporting student success and fostering a collaborative academic environment.
In this role, the Graduate Coordinator will serve as a primary resource for graduate students pursuing degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, and Nuclear Engineering. The successful candidate will provide knowledgeable guidance to students and faculty on university academic policies and procedures, helping students make informed decisions and progress successfully toward degree completion.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, approachable, and committed to delivering exceptional service while managing complex processes with accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities
This position assists the following degrees within the department: MS & PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering, Online MS in Construction Engineering (new fall 2025), and MS & PhD in Nuclear Engineering. A list of key responsibilities include:
Guide graduate students from admission through graduation, coordinating records, programs of study, and academic milestones to support timely and successful degree completion.
Manage graduate admissions processes, including application review coordination, communication with graduate committees, admission paperwork and on boarding processes for student when they arrive to campus.
Partner with faculty to ensure exams, defenses, and advising processes are getting completed, while fostering productive student-faculty relationships within programs.
Interpret, communicate, and implement university policies and degree requirement updates, ensuring accurate advising and compliance with institutional standards.
Serve as a liaison between the department and the Graduate School, acting as a trusted resource for graduate students and faculty.
Support curriculum and graduate committee processes by coordinating feedback, evaluations, and program-level communications.
Enhance the graduate student experience through recruitment initiatives, orientation, mentoring programs, and professional development and community-building events.
Engage in campus-wide professional development communities and departmental initiatives, contributing to continuous improvement while expanding professional expertise.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
2 years' of related experience.
