Summary of Role
GlobalFoundries is seeking a Principal Analyst, Supply Chain - Material Manager to join the Material Management team within Global Supply Chain (GSC). This role is responsible for leading material management activities for the US region by monitoring key supply chain parameters that enable manufacturing execution. The position serves as a critical interface between Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing, providing clear "green to build" signals to regional manufacturing teams while ensuring supply readiness and operational continuity.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead material management oversight for the US region to support manufacturing operations and supply continuity
Provide clear and timely "green to build" signals to regional manufacturing teams based on supply readiness assessments
Exercise strong process governance across forecasting, consumption, and inventory models to ensure alignment with manufacturing commitments
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify risks, drive process improvements, and mitigate supply disruptions
Develop, implement, and enhance detection models to identify potential supply constraints and forecast variances
Drive innovation and alignment across Central Planning, Buyer Work Center, and Material Management teams within Global Supply Chain
Monitor and report on key performance metrics critical to manufacturing execution and supply chain health
Other Responsibilities
Serve as a liaison between Central Planning, Buyer Work Center, and Material Management teams through regular daily huddles to identify and address supply concerns
Initiate and lead Crisis Supply Incident Response activities in response to geopolitical events, natural disasters, or other global supply interruptions
Produce and present weekly supply heat maps for FAB daily operations meetings to communicate supply status and risks
Partner closely with Manufacturing teams to support spares, materials, and silicon requirements, including NPI, phase-in, and phase-out activities
Analyze variances between forecasted and actual material consumption, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions
Enable and manage exception-handling processes for non-POR supply scenarios
Coordinate cross-functional meetings with Quality, Sourcing, GSM, Central Planning, and Buyer Work Center teams to align on supply issues and action plans
Support achievement of annual cost targets in partnership with relevant stakeholders
Provide regular status updates and supply-related communications to Sourcing and Manufacturing teams
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security requirements and programs
Other duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in a business, economics, supply chain, or technical field, or a technical degree with strong business knowledge
Minimum of 4-5 years of material management experience, preferably supporting direct materials in a production or manufacturing environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead through ambiguity and drive execution
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting semiconductor or foundry manufacturing environments
High proficiency in spreadsheet and data analysis tools
Experience with Oracle ERP, particularly purchasing and inventory modules
Advanced Excel skills, including macros and VBA programming
Strong knowledge of planning, purchasing, and inventory management systems
Solid understanding of inventory flow, inventory management, and distribution planning concepts
Experience developing reports to support ongoing inventory and availability inquiries
Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Travel
Up to 10%
Expected Salary Range
$72,000.00 - $126,000.00
