What's a typical day as Senior Electrical Designer? You'll be:
Designing safe, reliable, economical, and maintainable electrical systems for new and modernized facilities
Coordinating with drafters and utilizing CAD tools such as MicroStation and Smart Plant (3D) to produce detailed design drawings
Exchanging technical information with interdisciplinary teams and suppliers
Evaluating and updating design standards, supporting field construction as necessary
Developing comprehensive construction bid packages and technical documentation for electrical projects
Planning, organizing, and managing multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
Reviewing vendor drawings and conducting equipment witness testing when needed
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
Have an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience (preferred)
Bring 8-12 years of electrical design experience-preferably in the power field
Possess a deep understanding of NFPA 70/NEC, NESC, grounding, lighting/communications, and
Are proficient with MicroStation, Smart Plant (3D), and skilled with MS Word/Excel
Are highly skilled at developing complex design drawings, construction bid packages, and equipment procurement documents
Can produce one-line, three-line, and schematic diagrams; size and specify distribution equipment
Are experienced with switch room layouts, hazardous area classification, equipment placement, and interpreting P&IDs and instrument loop drawings
Have excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines
Are capable of performing fieldwork, including climbing stairs/ladders in a petrochemical plant environment, with PPE as required
Preferred: Experience with electrical load flow and short circuit calculations
