Overview

Utah State University (USU) invites applications for two Program Coordinator I positions (housed at two different locations) to support the implementation, coordination, and day-to-day operations of the Preschool Development Grant Project within the Human Development and Family Studies Department. One full-time position will be housed in Blanding and work with the communities in San Juan County. One position will be .75 FTE and will be housed on the Logan campus and work with several community partners.

The primary goals of the Preschool Development project are to support the professional development of early childhood educators and provide increased opportunities for experiential learning for children in early childhood programs. The Program Coordinators will work closely with the Principal Investigator and Program Manager, project staff, and university and community partners to ensure project goals, timelines, and deliverables are met.

Responsibilities

75% Community Partnership and Program Leadership

The Program Coordinator I serves as the primary representative of the USU project team to an assigned community partner in rural Utah. This role requires substantial independent decision-making, professional discretion, and responsibility for planning, coordinating, and evaluating program activities.

The Program Coordinator will:

Serve as the principal liaison between the assigned community partner, USU project personnel, university offices, and external stakeholders.

Lead the development of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) in collaboration with the community partner, ensuring alignment with USU regulations; submit MOUs for review; and revise based on feedback from USU and Utah DHHS.

Oversee project planning, implementation, and monitoring of milestones and deliverables for both USU project staff and community partner staff.

Track progress toward MOU-defined responsibilities and synthesize updates for Utah DHHS during monthly meetings and quarterly reporting cycles.

Determine, coordinate, and assign daily operational activities related to the community partnership, including scheduling, logistics, and communication on behalf of USU project staff.

Collect, analyze, and interpret program-specific data (e.g., participant counts, observation scores, satisfaction metrics) to inform program improvement and meet funding requirements.

Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, reports, and records related to the assigned community partner.

Develop written summaries of data and MOU-related activities for distribution to USU, Utah DHHS, the community partner, and relevant stakeholders.
