Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Summary
The Where 2 Manufacture (W2M) Process Analyst is responsible for driving manufacturing decision making for global product sets through analyses of Corning's global manufacturing footprint to include external manufacturing partners. This role works in close collaboration internally with product line management, customer program team(s), and supply chain (SC) teams (plant and regional planners, supply chain managers, global supply management, external manufacturing managers, logistics, etc.) to achieve customer service targets, enable revenue/profitability growth, and improve inventory/cash flow performance.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in driving manufacturing decisions utilizing the W2M methodology
Analyze global demand vs. capacity for manufacturing options
Aggregate key inputs for informed decision making to include logistics, tariff implications and internal cost validation
Interact with PE on product specifications and drawings for outsourcing products
Collaborate with the External Manufacturing team on RFPs from preferred outsourcing partners
Collaborate with PLM on product manufacturing requirements
Analyze NPI portfolio for manufacturing options
Participate in the SiOP process for capacity understanding
Facilitate communication on project progression and W2M decisions
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree, Supply Chain degree preferable
3+ years' experience in supply chain, manufacturing or operations with a demonstrated track record of results
Mastery of supply chain strategy best practices and philosophy in optimizing operations (Capability)
Understanding of process flow from fiber to finished solution (Capacity)
Ability to align and build teams to deliver results (Influence). Able to get things done by influencing resources across the globe that are not direct reports and may have conflicting regional priorities
SAP knowledge and/or understanding
Understanding of product and regional demand
Financial acumen (understanding total landed cost and tariffs to drive decision making)
Ability to simplify complex situations and deal w/ ambiguity
Experience in project management and superior organization skills
Strong communications (particularly upward within a global organization), leadership, and interpersonal skills
Ability to establish direction, work across multiple work streams, create strategy, and execute
A leader in impacting performance and delivery of internal service
Assertive with a strong results orientation
Minimum 25% travel time
Fluent in written and spoken English

The range for this position is $82,207.00 - $113,035.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
