Our client is looking for an Accounting Manager who will oversee all accounting and financial operations for the assigned site, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and financial leadership in support of site and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and direct all accounting and financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, payroll, AP/AR, audits, taxes, cost analysis, and fixed assets
Prepare profit and loss statements, forecasts, historical data, and annual budgets; support variance analysis and cost reduction efforts
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and State and Federal regulations
Partner with site leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and operational decision-making
Lead, develop, and evaluate accounting staff; provide direction and oversight
Support vendor selection and contracts for financial and accounting services
Represent the site on company initiatives and steering teams
Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 7 years of accounting experience, including 3 years of leadership experience
OR
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 5 years of accounting experience, including 3 years of leadership experience
Advanced knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis
Strong analytical, communication, and people management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relational databases
Knowledge of State regulations related to mining operations, accounting, and auditing
Preferred Qualifications
Previous mining industry experience
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Primarily office-based with occasional work in mine, outdoor, or manufacturing environments
Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment
Requires standing, sitting, climbing stairs, manual dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
PPE required when working in operational environments
This is an in-person role in Safford, AZ.
