Role Overview:
The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) - Systems Administrator supports the State's cloud-based SuccessFactors HXM suite and its integration with PeopleSoft. The role focuses on system functionality, configuration, and ongoing maintenance to ensure optimal performance. It does not involve hardware, server, or application development responsibilities. Success in this position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the technical ability to understand system configuration, integrations, and data transformations. The HRIS Systems Administrator manages stakeholder relationships, coordinates with vendors, and develops a solid understanding of business processes. The role also involves translating technical concepts into clear, accessible language, supporting daily operations, and resolving functional issues. Additionally, this position offers opportunities to deepen SuccessFactors expertise through hands-on work and collaboration across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:
Review and triage system-related issues, identify root causes, and coordinate with vendors or IT partners when escalation is needed.
Partner with HR business owners by clearly explaining system options and impacts, ensuring configuration decisions align with business needs.
Maintain system functionality by managing configuration updates, permissions, application registrations, and other key components that support HR processes.
Document system changes and communicate updates and impacts to stakeholders in alignment with change-management practices.
Work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and apply critical thinking when analyzing system behavior or recommending improvements.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $61,022.00, but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:

Support the functional operation of the State's cloud-based HR applications by performing configuration updates and maintaining system settings.
Review and manage system-related tickets, ensuring issues are clearly documented, analyzed, and resolved or escalated in a timely manner.
Work with HR business owners to understand process needs, gather requirements, and translate those needs into clear, actionable system updates.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with HR stakeholders and IT partners, communicating system options, impacts, and changes in a clear and professional manner.
Communicate system updates, enhancements, and process impacts to customers, vendors, and peers to support awareness and adoption.
What You'll Need for Success:
Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
1-3 years experience supporting HRIS/ERP applications in a functional and/or technical support role.
Business analysis or HR process exposure preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate process needs and recommend system solutions.
Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with HR and IT partners.
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple requests.
Strong system documentation and change-management skills.
Difficulty of Work:
The work requires judgment when evaluating system issues and determining appropriate solutions. The role involves analyzing system configuration, HR business processes, and functional impacts across the enterprise.

This role involves working with higher-level staff and managers to clarify objectives and complete assignments. Work is reviewed for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with established practices.
