This position provides Basic Career Services and CareerForce information through one on one assistance in person, on phone, or online to a wide range of job seekers, including Unemployment Insurance applicants via RESEA program, Veterans, MFIP/SNAP recipients, Dislocated Workers, and individuals served by CareerForce partner organizations.

This role increases awareness of CareerForce programs and services to support informed career decisions, offers career guidance and resources within the service area, and delivers technical and informational support. The incumbent ensures job seekers can access tools needed to secure suitable employment.

In addition, this position works as part of a team to assist Martin & Faribault Counties' Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) public assistance participants coming to the CareerForce Center for purposes of seeking work.

Minimum Qualifications

Please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.

One (1) year experience providing customer service, case management, employment and training services, facilitating workshops, career placement, career coaching, workforce development, employment and training programs, human services related programs or a similar role as determined by the agency.

Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:

Experience providing one-on-one assistance to individuals, including assessing needs and offering guidance or problem-solving support.

Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds while maintaining professionalism and data privacy.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Human Resources, Business, Education, Communication or other closely related field as determined by the agency.

Experience providing job search guidance, including applications, resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation.

Experience documenting client interactions through timely and accurate case notes.

Experience maintaining or monitoring support service funds, budgets, or financial tracking tools.

Knowledge of community resources and ability to assist individuals facing employment barriers.

Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and online employment platforms such as CareerForce.mn.gov, Minnesotaworks.net, Workforce One, and SharePoint.
