Summary This Administrative Officer position is in the Business Office services at the VA Bedford Healthcare System, located at the Bedford, Massachusetts, location. This is a permanent, full-time position. Responsibilities As Administrative Officer, the incumbent serves as a fully functional member of the senior staff in providing advice for management officials on a full range of administrative management functions and the effective utilization of financial, logistical, and human resources. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Develops, formulates, and provides all essential data for the annual budget forecast for the submission to the Associate Medical Center Director. Maintains budget control records and assures that funds are used in accordance with the operating budget. Serves as a liaison between local servicing finance offices on maintaining and reconciling budget allocations. Reviews financial reports to assure accuracy and compliance. Conducts studies of resources allocation and utilization. Responsible for personnel management functions including recruitment, classification, staffing, employee relations, the performance appraisal process, employee awards, pay/leave administration, training, travel, EEO programs, workman's compensation. Provides ongoing training and assistance to new and incumbent personnel regarding office policies and procedures.
