We are seeking a motivated Corrections General Industries Factory Supervisor to join our team at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Huntingdon. By helping lead our Correctional Industries Diesel Mechanic Shop, you will teach inmates and monitor the operations of the shop. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will supervise subordinate staff and inmate workers in the manufacturing, production, or processing of products or services within the Diesel Mechanic Shop. Your work will involve providing orientation and training for workers which will include reviewing shop regulations, job requirements, and safety. You will prepare inmate workers' progress reports, counsel them on job related performance issues, and make recommendations to promote or demote them based on their overall work performance. Some of your duties will also include overseeing all phases of production design, preparing product samples, and inspecting work in progress. Additionally, you will supervise storage and allocation of materials and supplies, the operation and maintenance of equipment, and the internal bookkeeping system.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,273.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of experience in the production of goods or services, which includes one year of lead work experience; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of lead work experience in the production of goods or services.
Other Requirements:
This position must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class A CDL with air brake restriction removed.
Employees may be required to obtain and maintain CDL endorsements and certifications necessary to operate specific pieces of equipment.
This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with Federal Regulations.
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
This position will require employees to pass the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation New Mechanic training course during probationary period.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
