Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Somerville, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play an integral part in managing financial records and ensuring compliance with corporate tax regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Handle sales tax filings and ensure timely submissions across multiple jurisdictions.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all journal entries are accurate and properly documented.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations.

Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Collaborate with external auditors during audits to provide necessary documentation and support.

Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.

Generate financial reports for management, providing insights into company performance.

Stay updated on changes to tax laws and accounting standards to ensure organizational compliance. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and sales tax filings.

Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and journal entries.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Proficiency in accounting software and tools.

Effective communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
