Summary You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Engineering Division of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING BATH. Responsibilities You will research and provide technical recommendations for hull, mechanical and electrical equipment/systems. You will evaluate and provide recommendation on engineering data prepared by the shipbuilder, and contractor to assure compliance with design specification and applicable contract. You will review the contractor's test plans and directives to analyze and collect data during testing and record factual engineering data within the oversight and management of professional employees. You will conduct technical evaluations and investigations into project and process problems which arise during the design, construction and testing of naval ships. You will review and evaluate changes to the shipbuilding or ship repair specifications to determine the impact of such changes on the system design, operation, construction schedule, test and cost. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical guidance and solutions of configuration and change management for new construction oversight of ships.
