Azure Data Engineer (Event-Driven & Streaming Systems)

CTG is seeking an Azure Data Engineer with expertise in event-driven and streaming systems to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Azure.

Location: Remote

Duration: 9 months

Key Responsibilities:

Develop real-time and batch data pipelines using Azure Event Hub, Databricks (Spark), Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics .

Build backend services with Python and/or Java .

Design and optimize SQL queries across multiple databases (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MSSQL).

Implement streaming solutions and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Azure Event Hub).

Leverage AI-assisted tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor) to accelerate development.

Maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and CI/CD processes for reliable deployments.

Required Skills:

Strong programming in Python and/or Java

Advanced SQL and database optimization

Experience with event-driven architectures

Proficient with Azure cloud services : Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Functions, ADLS2, Blob Storage, Cosmos DB

Familiarity with streaming frameworks and real-time analytics

Nice to Have: Financial services experience, ETL/ELT pipelines, CRM integrations (Salesforce), Redis, GraphQL, containerization, infrastructure-as-code

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $95,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
