Summary:

CED's Sales Trainee position provides the tools and training for learning the ins and outs of one of the nation's fastest growing industries with a focus on sales and customer service. In this developmental position, you will be exposed to various roles in each facet of the company, gaining experience in all aspects of the business. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, exemplifies stellar time management and communication skills, and is excited to be empowered and involved in business goals and initiatives. This trainee role will develop you into longer term opportunities in inside sales, quotations, project management, or outside sales.

In this position, you will:

Learn all aspects of the CED business

Attend classes online as well as in-person at various locations

Participate in on- the-job training and mentoring

Establish, develop, and maintain relationships and rapport with customers

Contribute to goal-planning with location manager

Assist with warehouse operations

Serve customers on the phone and in person

Total compensation includes base pay (hourly) plus bonuses and will be based on experience and qualifications. Hourly rate is estimated to be $24-27/hr.

Reports to: Jacob Spath

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age

High School Diploma

Current, valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Reliable transportation to and from work location

Able to operate a computer and smart phone

Able to lift 50 pounds

Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future)

Willing to undergo a criminal background check and motor vehicle record check an drug screen in accordance with local, state, and federal law

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelor's Degree

Experience working in the construction/wholesale industry

Experience working in a warehouse/blue collar environment

Sales experience

Working Conditions:

Conditions vary based on the trainee's current segment of the training and will include warehouse, office and external environments.

During some segments, activities will include lifting, sorting, standing, possible extreme heat/cold conditions.

Office segments may include sitting for extended periods.

Various segments will include some travel - both by car and by air.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Essential Job Functions:

Enjoy winning sales orders and growing market share, through negotiations and reaching team oriented sales and GP goals.

Develop sales opportunities with current customers and build rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations.

Develop accounts by checking customer's buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features.

Maintain a proactive approach to all accounts and their needs through constant communication and prompt responses

Provide competitive quotes for daily purchases, monthly buys and annual contracts.

Fill orders by transferring orders to fulfillment; communicating expected delivery date; explaining stock-outs.

Update job knowledge by studying new product descriptions and participating in educational opportunities.

Accomplish department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Responsibilities also include counter sales, receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, and occasionally customer delivery.

The compensation range for this position is $52000 to $56000 annually.
