POSITION SUMMARY:

Primary function is to perform casework and/or support processing duties as may be assigned, including incoming/outgoing telephone calls. Duties include contact with the public.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

May be assigned to various professional staff, to a specific workload, project, or caseload or to certain @types of support case processing activities as needed, either working individually or as part of a team.

May perform intake related client interviews and preparation of appropriate support petitions, parent locate requests, letter, etc.

May docket support case information.

May research needed case information and follow-up within established office procedural practices.

If assigned, may perform support payment account maintenance duties and support payment account adjustment and/or audit duties.

If assigned, may perform parent locate research activities and related duties aimed at locating absent parents for the purpose of establishing orders.

As necessary, @types letters, forms and documents.

Receives/processes requests for support arrearage lien information from title companies, attorneys, etc., within prescribed parameters.

May be required to process/receive support payments and provide receipts to customers accurately, if assigned.

Responds to inquiries from the public, clients, attorneys, other courts, agencies or offices. Contact may be performed in person, at an office or by telephone or written communication.

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.

Ability to learn and perform complex support case processing tasks and related clerical tasks within the framework of established office procedures.

Ability to work independently on difficult or complex clerical tasks without constant direct supervision.

Ability to plan and organize assigned work duties and priorities within established parameters.

Follows State, County and Department security requirements, policies and procedures; understands and adheres to security plans, emergency procedures, and confidentiality policies; helps to provide a safe and secure environment for self, co-workers, and clients; takes measures to secure data and client information; keeps updated on all safeguards and security programs.

Ability to work in a high volume, often stressful office work environment.

Ability to exercise good judgement, courtesy and tact when in contact with the public and clients who may be under a high degree of stress.

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Will be assigned as a trainer as needed.

Learn and use the Pennsylvania Automated Child Support Enforcement System (PACSES) and all related applications including the County computer system.

Ability to maintain statistics.

Ability to understand the Federal Performance Measures.

Ability to work off-site, if required.

Other duties may be assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proficient in MS word, Excel, Outlook, with computer keyboarding skill of 35 wpm.

Work experience in a business, legal or court environment preferred.
