Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 10 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments. 10 years of experience in design, construction and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical distribution systems, including air and water side systems. Experience in mechanical infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or other related fields. Professional engineering license. Experience in estimating, mechanical design, operation, and commissioning of mission critical data center mechanical equipment. Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of mechanical cooling plants, fire suppression systems, fuel oil systems, domestic water systems, and sanitary sewer systems in mission critical environment. Experience in the areas of design for production, structural beams/elements, and international building codes along with knowledge of mechanical engineering and design principles. Experience in designing modular building assemblies, with an understanding of mechanical tolerances and tolerance analysis. About the job Our thirst for technology is a part of everything we do. With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$248,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Provide technical support to data center services and operations teams, defining Mechanical system design requirements for multiple data center projects from inception to completion. Develop, implement, and manage the mechanical designs at the site level, starting from the basis of design through to the issuance of construction documents for new builds, infrastructure upgrades, and renovations. Collaborate with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to respond to site-specific engineering Requests for Information (RFI) and ensure alignment between Google's requirements and the overall design. Work with the core engineering team to provide site-specific requirements during the development of the Basis of Design (BOD) and coordinate system-level schematics with the EOR. Own and manage site-level power system issues during projects execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues.
