SCHEDULE: On-site. Occasional travel to supplier or development sites. Mix of hands-on manufacturing support, design reviews, supplier engagement, and data analysis.

Role Overview
This role focuses on designing and implementing scalable manufacturing solutions that transition complex mechanical and electromechanical products from concept to high-volume production. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will partner closely with design, quality, supply chain, and contract manufacturing teams to ensure products meet cost, quality, reliability, and scalability targets.
The role leads DFM/DFX efforts, supplier qualification, and New Product Introduction (NPI) execution, including manufacturing process controls, PFMEA, and structured root cause analysis in a fast-paced, high-impact manufacturing environment.
This position directly supports the successful industrialization of new products by reducing risk, improving quality and yields, and enabling faster product launches. The work strengthens supply chain resilience and delivers predictable, scalable production outcomes for internal stakeholders and end customers.
Key Responsibilities
Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFX) principles to improve manufacturability and scalability.
Lead supplier qualification, capability assessments, and readiness reviews.
Develop and validate manufacturing and test processes for NPI.
Support NPI execution from early builds through full production ramp.
Identify and resolve production issues using structured root cause analysis.
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
Support global manufacturing operations and occasional supplier travel.
MUST HAVES:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience applying manufacturing engineering principles including DFM/DFA/DFX, FMEA and NPI (New Product Introduction).
Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, sheet metal fabrication, and/or mechanical or electromechanical assembly.
Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers, including supplier qualification and ongoing relationship management.
Strong knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean), including manufacturing KPIs, statistical process control, and capability analysis.
Proficiency in hardware failure analysis, structured root cause investigation, and driving corrective and preventive actions, with hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues.
Proficient with CAD tools and interpretation of technical drawings.
Demonstrated process-improvement mindset with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, agile manufacturing environments.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
Master's degree in a related engineering discipline and/or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Experience leading New Product Introduction (NPI) from proto@type through mass production, including program or project ownership.
Bckgrnd in robotics, mechatronics, or electromechanical systems manufacturing, with technical exposure to mechanical and electrical components (motors, PCBAs, sensors, gears/bearings, control systems, etc.).
Experience in high-volume, regulated, precision, or advanced manufacturing environments, including multi-industry exposure (automotive, aerospace, medical device, consumer electronics); startup or consulting experience is a plus.
Knowledge of test engineering, automated test equipment, and statistical data analysis.
Proficiency with failure analysis and quality tools (FMEA, 8D, root cause corrective action).
Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing technologies.
Experience working in global manufacturing environments across multiple time zones.
Strong project/program management and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and present technical concepts clearly.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
