Project Engineer I: $61,000 - $76,300
Project Engineer II: $74,700 - $93,400
Sr Project Engineer: $84,500 - $112,600
Lead Project Engineer: $99,500 - $132,600
Scheduled Work Hours: Core hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or as work conditions dictate.
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Under minimal direction, Distribution Engineering Techs serve as a direct point of customer contact and will initiate, process, and follow up with customer requests for service as well as designing company identified system improvement projects. A Distribution Engineering Tech utilizes effective project management, planning, and scheduling skills and uses good judgment in decision making to complete field observations, inspections, along with right-of-way and easement documents necessary to complete detailed construction plans for construction, maintenance, removal and replacement of distribution facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Initiates, designs, and manages customer-initiated projects (new business) for service related to large commercial, industrial, or high-rise residential developments
Initiates, designs, and manages gov't agency requests for road widening/improvement projects
Liaise between company distribution, transmission, substation, standards and planning engineers to design and manage budgeted projects
Processes, calculates revenue justification, and collects required customer contributions, including refundable deposits
Completes field observations, inspections, necessary right-of-way and easement documents to complete detailed plans for construction, maintenance, removal and replacement work including bills of materials and cost estimates of materials, equipment, labor and metering requirements
Work includes creating job maps complete with instructions, and coordinating engineering, real estate, vegetation, and materials procurement to deliver on-time services driven by timely project completion
Responsible for permitting, utility coordination/deconfliction and real-time scope changes as necessary for construction completion
Education and Experience Requirements:
Associate degree in Construction Science, Construction Technology, Engineering, or related field is required, 2 years of experience is preferred. Preference given to candidates with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree (Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Mechanical Engineering) from an ABET accredited University.

Job includes, but is not limited to hearing, seeing, walking long distances on uneven terrain, talking, reading, typing, writing, color distinction, depth perception, working outside in adverse conditions, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, etc.).
Licenses, Certification, Bonding, and/or Testing:
Valid driver's license required. Must have a safe driving history.
Working Conditions:
Conditions will vary from office to field environments. Occasional travel to other locations within the company is required. Position requires work beyond normal business hours depending on workload, project deadlines, and service restoration efforts. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
