Payroll Clerk

Employment Type: Contract

Compensation: $26 - $35 hourly

Robert Half is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to assist with payroll processing and administrative support for a dynamic and growing organization. Key Responsibilities

Collect and verify employee timecards and data for payroll processing.

Enter and maintain payroll data in the payroll system with a high level of accuracy.

Prepare and distribute paychecks and manage direct deposits.

Review and reconcile payroll reports to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Assist with employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, benefits, or other related matters.

Support payroll audits, including collecting and organizing relevant documentation.

Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Perform general administrative tasks to support the HR and finance departments.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

Experience: 1-2+ years of payroll experience or data entry experience, preferably in a corporate or high-volume environment.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Knowledge: Familiarity with payroll rules, tax regulations, and compliance standards is a plus.
